Here you ask me, because if it started it? Nothing romantic, very simply and generally, though, like all good things in this life. One day during the summer of 1980 Yuri Shevchuk, a certified painter and poet, a self-taught, met the four young people ... Thus began a group of DDT, which has become a nightmare for the KGB, "parteytsev and иже with them, but at the same time become one of the most popular teams in the history of Soviet or Russian Roca. According to one version of the name of the group, despite its virulence, was initially quite harmless, and stands for "House of Children's Creativity" - the first refuge staff. And the names of those to whom it had begun: Roustam Asanbaev, Gennady Rodin, Vladimir Sigachev and Rustam Karimov.
In the future, a group not just changing composition, place of residence and relationship to the "surface", but her citizenship was always the same. It is said Yuri Shevchuk, the group has never been political, but always remained true to his civic duty.
Until 1982, the group quietly existed in Ufa, in the absence of means of entry will be made. And so it would be continued, if one day in spring 1982, Gennady Rodin did not clipping from the "Komsomolskaya Pravda" with reference to the contest held the "Golden Kamerton. Over the next three days in a terrible rush to the local television was produced demo tape. In the course of the case group also records his first album "Pig in the Rainbow." To the great surprise of the musicians they have received the grand prize at the Golden Kamerton for the song "Do not shoot." This, unfortunately, their fate did not have any impact. A month later, gave its first concert in public in the Ufa Oil Institute, where parteytsy "still in shock from what they heard and saw. Since then, the popularity of DDT began to increase in direct proportion to dislike, rosshey to them in the "bodies". After the concert band was declared a prohibited, and the team was forced to go underground.
During participation in the contest "Golden Kamerton" Shevchuk came to know another young team of "Rock-September, working in the same direction. After some problems the next album was recorded together with this group in Cherepovets, and was called "compromise."
In May 1983, during the festival "Rock for Peace" by DDT in the country's main venue - the stadium "Luzhniki". The program was broadcast on TV, but the show was cut from the program. The following year, was released on their first "classic" album "Peripherals". After releasing the album Party was condemned and the press as an agent of the Vatican, a handful of layabouts and so on and so forth. Effects were few: dramatically increased the popularity of the group in the nation, coupled with sharply increased antipathy "bodies." Unable to work and simply exist, Shevchuk was forced to leave Ufa. The next year he spent in Sverdlovsk, playing in the local group "Urfin Dzhyus" and in 1985 moved to Moscow. In March of that year Shevchuk gave his first concert in Leningrad. In difficult conditions, in a private apartment, together with Sergei Ryzhenko was recorded acoustic album "Moscow. Heat." In the same year the same, plus Sigachev, Sergey Letov, Niaz Abdyushev and Sergey Rudoy recorded another album, "Time."
In autumn of that year after a series of auditions Shevchuk brought a new core of DDT. Composition of DDT has been updated: Andrey Vasilyev (guitar, vocals), Vadim Kurylev (bass, flute, vocals) and Igor Dotsenko (drums). In April 1987 they were joined by guitarist and violinist Nikita Zaitsev. In spring of the same year the group presented a new program at 5-m Leningrad Rock Festival, which opened a DDT for the remainder of the population who, for any reason, by the time they are not yet known. Later, a group acquired the keyboard "ZOO" Andrei Muratov, and in this composition took part in rock-festivals in several cities in the Moscow. In September 1988 the group came saxophonist Michael Chernov, celebrity global scale, playing with various groups and at various country venues, from cultural centers to concert halls.
In summer 1988, the band played at the next, 6 th Leningrad rock-festival and went to his first concert tour in the country. Later, the melodies, was recorded the first officially approved by the program, I got this role, "and the song that gave the name of the album, for a long time was the anthem of the Soviet rock movement. Here it is necessary to say that the album, released by "Melody" sold out run of about a half million copies, and the team that won it for somewhere around 15 dollars. Perhaps, this has spurred the group on their first trip. At the same time, the group visited the United States, and their stay in Los Angeles was covered by MTV.
The next two years, a group led an active concert life, razezzhaya with concerts across the country, but since 1991, after recording the album "The actress, Spring", the team changed the strategy, preferring to concerts carefully prepared program. Fortunately, the team still should be the rule, offering fans of Russian rock excellent programs, such as "Black Dog Petersburg" and "On & Do". DDT was one of the first Russian group taking control of production of its products. A long time, the release of all production of DDT has been TOO Theater DDT, the structure established for the protection of copyright products. In addition, with the help of DDT Theater organized concerts, festivals, recorded and produced albums such groups now known as "COP", "Chufella Marzufella", "winter animals."
To date, DDT - one of the most popular Russian rock groups. In May 1993, 120,000 people came to their concert on Palace Square, St. Petersburg. In the same year the group was named "best rock group of the year, and he Shevchuk -" The best rock musician of the year. " In 1995, Shevchuk visited areas of fighting in Chechnya, which gave a few concerts for the Russian soldiers and the Chechens. In the same year, at an anniversary concert dedicated to the 15 th anniversary of the group at the Petrovsky stadium in the group managed to collect this number of visitors, which hitherto could not be any of the Russian group. In 1996 issued a very heavy. In America, was recorded a new album "Love", the group gave a series of concerts in various cities throughout the country, and then in December it was announced the closure of the program "From Before & Sam Shevchuk retire somewhere under Peter, thinking about the new program.
As a result of reflection has started work on a new program, now known as "the world number zero," and was issued an interim album "Born in the USSR", which formed the basis for live concert recording of "That's all ..." in Minsk and speech in Chechnya. In addition, the 1997-year was marked by a grandiose rock festival, held in St. Petersburg in the early summer, which was presented to a large number of young musicians, observed and selected "senior fellow" at the time of the tour of DDT in the country. In the top of the whole has produced a CD with recordings of most of these young musicians.
The new program, started with concerts in the near abroad to 98 year proved to be a very audacious and unexpected, what was probably not waited. But it was accepted and now we have our rock scene completely updated to DDT is not as naive and poster, probably, as before, but more intelligent. As he said himself Yuriy Shevchuk: "If it were not for this program was born," DDT "would no longer exist. We have come to what must disagree. It was boring to play" Last Fall "(A & F, # 4'99). Also, in time of a program group for the first time in many years to change the composition - the guitarist left A. Vassiliev and a new bassist P. Borisov. (less) created byAugust Rash

(more)Best-known for their ubiquitous hit "The Distance," Cake epitomized the postmodern, irony-drenched aesthetic of 90s geek-rock. Their sound freely mixed and matched pastiches of widely varying genres -- white-boy funk, hip-hop, country, new wave pop, jazz, college rock, and guitar rock -- with a particular delight in the clashes that resulted. Their songs were filled with lyrical non sequiturs, pop-culture references, and smirky satire, all delivered with bone-dry detachment by speak-singing frontman John McCrea. Cake's music most frequently earned comparisons to Soul Coughing and King Missile, but lacked the downtown New York artiness of those two predecessors; instead, Cake cultivated an image of average guys with no illusions or pretensions about their role as entertainers. At the same time, critics lambasted what they saw as a smugly superior attitude behind the band's habitual sarcasm. Perhaps there was something in Cake's doggedly spare, low-key presentation that amplified their ironic detachment even when they didn't intend it, but most reviewers pegged them as one-hit wonders after the success of "The Distance." Nonetheless, Cake managed a few more alternative-radio hits in the years that followed, while retaining largely the same approach. Cake was formed in Sacramento, California in 1992 by vocalist/songwriter John McCrea, who'd recently returned home after spending a few years in Los Angeles, unsuccessfully trying to break into the music business. The original lineup of Cake also featured guitarist Greg Brown, trumpeter Vince DiFiore, bassist Sean McFessel, and drummer Frank French; McFessel soon left to attend college, and was replaced by Gabe Nelson. In 1993, the band released their debut single, "Rock n' Roll Lifestyle," on a local basis, and followed it with a self-produced, self-released, self-distributed album, Motorcade of Generosity. Motorcade found its way to the revived Capricorn label, which released the album nationally after Cake signed a contract with them. With the prospect of extensive national touring, both Gabe Nelson and Frank French left the band, and were replaced by bassist Victor Damiani and drummer Todd Roper. Re-released by Capricorn, "Rock n' Roll Lifestyle" caught on at college radio in 1995, and was followed by two more singles, "Ruby Sees All," and "Jolene" (not the Dolly Parton song). Cake's second album, Fashion Nugget, was released in 1996 and spawned a breakout smash in the Greg Brown-penned "The Distance," which dominated alternative radio that fall, and even turned into an unlikely sporting-event anthem. Mostly on the strength of "The Distance," Fashion Nugget charted in the Top 40 and sold over a million copies. It also spun off a somewhat controversial follow-up single in a cover of Gloria Gaynor's "I Will Survive"; although the band professed its sincere admiration for the song, some critics and listeners took it as a smarmy put down, in part because of McCrea's dead pan vocals. In 1997, Greg Brown and Victor Damiani both left Cake and formed a new group, the new wave-influenced Deathray, which eventually released its debut album on Capricorn in 2000. Meanwhile, McCrea briefly considered putting Cake to rest, but brought original bassist Gabe Nelson back to replace Damiani. For Cake's next album, McCrea used a tag-team procession of guitarists -- five in all -- on different tracks; the result, Prolonging the Magic, was released in 1998. True to its sardonic title, it defied critical opinion to produce another big alternative-radio hit in "Never There," plus decently successful follow-ups in "Sheep Go to Heaven" and "Let Go." Prolonging the Magic sold nearly as well as Fashion Nugget, and was also certified platinum. For the supporting tour, one of the album's guitarists, Xan McCurdy, officially joined Cake full-time. In the spring of 2000, Cake signed a new deal with Columbia, and debuted in 2001 with their fourth overall album, Comfort Eagle, which became their highest-charting yet (at Number 13). The lead single "Short Skirt/Long Jacket" was a hit on alternative radio, and even earned some MTV airplay -- no longer an easy task for any artist -- with a video that featured reactions to the song by randomly selected people on the street. Following the completion of the album, drummer Todd Roper left the group to spend more time with his children, and was replaced on the supporting tour by Pete McNeal. (less) created bySedat Uyanık

(more)The Velvet Underground was an American rock band first active from 1965 to 1970 (and 1970 to 1973 in a different incarnation). Its best-known members were Lou Reed and John Cale. Although never commercially successful while together, the Velvet Underground are often cited by critics as one of the most important and influential groups of their era. A famous remark, often attributed to British musician Brian Eno, is that while only a few thousand people bought the first Velvet Underground record upon its release, almost every single one of them was inspired to start a band.
